Stay Alert When Sharing Contacts or Calendars
Be careful when users ask you for access to your contacts or calendars. By granting access you may unknowingly be giving a suspicious user access to send emails to your contacts, create calendar meetings on your behalf, and join meetings that are on your schedule.
Additionally, you may be granting the application permission to view and monitor your activity and documents. This can raise security and privacy issues.
ACTION STEPS:
- Pause whenever an application asks you to grant it access to your contacts, calendars, documents, or whenever an application asks to view what you are doing
- Report any prompts like that to your IT staff before you allow access
